The five memory types
How your profile is worked out
Each game leans on a different kind of memory. Recall uses visual memory, Sequence uses memory for numbers in order, Words uses recognition memory, and Signal uses memory for patterns in time. We average your last seven daily scores in each game and compare them with typical scores, where 50 is about average. Your strongest area sets your type, unless your scores are close together, which makes you a Fox.
Your profile updates as you play, so it's worth checking again after a week or two. Everything is worked out in your browser, and nothing is sent to us.
This is for fun. It isn't a medical, psychological or intelligence test, and a daily game can't measure your memory the way a professional assessment can. Sleep, stress and practice all move your scores around. For the science behind the games, read How memory works.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I see my type yet?
You need at least one daily score in each of the four games. Practice games don't count, since everyone plays the same daily puzzles and that keeps scores comparable.
Can my type change?
Yes. It's based on your recent scores, so as you improve or have an off week, your type can shift.
Is a higher number better?
Within a skill, yes, but the types aren't a ranking. Every type is just a different pattern of strengths.
