Game data
Your scores, streaks and game history are stored in your own browser using local storage. Clearing your browser data will reset them. Daily scores are also sent, without your name, to show rankings, as described under Online features below.
Contact form
If you send a message through our contact form, we receive your email address and message so we can reply. We don't use it for anything else or share it. Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider, Netlify.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are visited and how people found us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your approximate location, device and browser type. We don't use it to identify you personally. You can learn more at how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Online features: rankings, groups and party mode
To show how your score compares with other players, your browser creates a random player ID. It isn't linked to your name, email or device. When you finish a daily test, we store that ID with the test, the day and your score. This data is stored with our database provider, Supabase. Clearing your browser data creates a new random ID. Results from the reaction time test and the emotional intelligence test stay in your own browser and are not sent to us. To have your scores deleted, contact us through the contact form.
Memory Profile, Memory Palace and email list
Your Memory Profile is worked out in your browser. To compare you with other players, your browser sends your recent average score in each game (with no name or email) and receives percentages back.
If you enter your email to unlock the full analysis, we store your email address, your memory type, your random player ID, and the date. If you tick the box to receive emails, we also store that you agreed, when, and the exact wording you agreed to. We only send marketing emails, such as news, new games and offers from Daily Recall, to people who ticked that box. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time through the contact form.
Earlier versions of the site offered groups, live party rooms and a saveable Memory Palace. These features have been retired. If you used them, data you gave us then (such as a first name, or an email address and save code) may still be held with Supabase; contact us and we'll delete it.
Your email is stored with our database provider, Supabase, and may later be sent through an email service provider on our behalf. We never sell or rent your email address. To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, contact us through the contact form.
Challenge links and share images
If you send a challenge, the first name you choose to enter is put into the link itself so your friend can see who challenged them. We don't store it anywhere; it's saved only in your own browser so you don't have to type it again. Share images are created on your device and aren't uploaded to us.
Your cookie choices
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked before any analytics or advertising cookies are used, and nothing is set until they accept. Anyone can change their choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Our pages also load our fonts (Instrument Sans and Instrument Serif) from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to download them.
Feedback
If you send feedback, we receive your message, the page you sent it from and your browser type, plus your email address if you choose to include it. Feedback is processed by our hosting provider, Netlify.
Affiliate links
Some pages link to products on Amazon. Daily Recall is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. If you click one of these links, Amazon may set cookies to record that you came from our site, so we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Amazon’s own privacy notice applies on their site. We don’t receive your name, address or what you bought.
